Octo Child-Friendly Privacy Notice
Last updated: 28 September 2025
Hello! This page explains how Octo looks after your information. A "grown-up" (like your parent or guardian) should read this with you.
1. Who are we?
Octo is a friendly voice companion made by Batuhan Aktaş (placeholder). If you have questions, your grown-up can email us at support@octo.toys.
2. What information do we collect?
When you use Octo, we might collect:
- Your first name or nickname and age so that Octo can talk to you in the right way.
- The things you say to Octo and how Octo replies, so conversations work properly.
- Information about the device you use and how the app is working to fix problems and keep everyone safe.
We do not want you to share secrets like your address, passwords, or private pictures.
3. Why do we collect it?
We use the information to:
- let you talk with Octo and remember your favourite things;
- make sure the app is safe and fun for children;
- show helpful summaries to your grown-up;
- improve Octo so it gets better over time.
4. Who can see your information?
- Your grown-up who created the account can see summaries and, if they choose, transcripts of chats.
- Our trusted helpers (like companies that turn your voice into text or store it securely) use your information only to help Octo work.
- We never sell your information or use it to advertise to you.
5. How long do we keep it?
We keep your conversations and information for up to 180 days so Octo can remind you about past chats and help your grown-up stay informed. Your grown-up can ask us to delete it sooner.
6. Your choices
- Ask your grown-up to see what information we have about you.
- Ask your grown-up (or us) to change or delete it.
- You can stop using Octo at any time.
7. Staying safe
If you ever feel unhappy or unsafe while using Octo, tell your grown-up right away. They can also email support@octo.toys so we can help.
8. Updates
When we change this notice, we will let your grown-up know in the app or by email.
Thanks for using Octo!
